Position:              Litigation Solicitor

Location:             Wolverhampton

Salary:                  Negotiable dependant on experience

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Williams & Dunne to join our litigation team.

We are one of the fastest growing law firms in Wolverhampton, specialising in the financial claims, flight compensation claims and personal injury. We are currently recruiting for a litigation solicitor within our company to help us with our planned growth.

The role would suit a litigation solicitor or legal executive with circa three years post qualification experience. Candidates from a personal injury background and seeking a retrain opportunity will be considered.


Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of circa three years litigation experience for any background.
  • Experience of working within a volume driven claims department is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of the civil procedure rules and their application throughout the litigation process.
  • Practical experience of Part 7 small claims and fast track litigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to reviewing documents.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • A team player who can build relationships with co-workers and clients alike.
  • Ability to consistently achieve income targets on a monthly basis.
  • Have an ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to value claims along with a proven track record on file settlements.
  • Familiar with using Pro Claim or other case management software.
  • Good interesting of legal accounting principles.
  • Possessing a “can-do” attitude and being willing to go the extra mile.


Desirable skills:

  • Experience of acting for claimants in litigation.
  • Some advocacy experience either attending court or telephone hearings would be advantageous.
  • Experience in financial claims would be advantageous but training can be provided.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our contested litigation department at Williams & Dunne, the role will be based at Wolverhampton which is within easy reach of the city centre.

 

Williams & Dunne has an ambitious outlook which seeks to offer clients ethical honest and pragmatic legal advice. Our aim is to develop a dynamic legal practice at the heart of Wolverhampton and build a formidable reputation within personal injury and financial claims sectors whilst having our sights set on expanding into other legal disciplines in the near future.

The Role

As an experienced fee earner, you will have a solid background within a volume personal injury department and a passion to bring back the best possible results for clients. You have proven track record in handling fast track personal injury work particularly road traffic accident claims but also have a desire to expand your knowledge into travel law including flight delays and financial litigation claims.

The Person

Essential

  • Minimum of 12 months experience working within a volume driven claims department e.g. road traffic accident claims.
  • Ability to handle a volume caseload of personal injury files from inception to conclusion.
  • Experience of the MOJ claims portal essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to reviewing medical records, medical reports and reviewing liability documents etc.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work with and achieve income targets on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on building relationships with co-workers and clients alike.
  • Have an ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
  • Experience in the use of case management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to value claims along with a proven track record on file settlements.

Desirable

  • Previous experience handling holiday illness and injury claim preferred, but will consider personal injury paralegals from a different specialism with experience of handling volume work.
  • Experience handling flight delay, lost baggage and or breach of contract claims for holiday claims clients would be advantageous.
  • Experience of the handling litigation, particularly the small claims and fast track.
  • Experience of handling financial litigations claims e.g. PPI and McWilliams claims.
  • Experience of drafting arbitrations, of claim and witness statements within the aviation and holiday claims arena would be a distinct advantage.

 

Working hours:

40 hours per week between Monday – Friday (9.00-17.30)

As an experienced paralegal you will have a steady background within a volume personal injury department and a passion to bring back the best possible results for clients.  You have proven track record in handling fast track personal injury work and a desire to expand your knowledge into travel law.

The Person

Essential

  • Up to 2 years experience of both portal and non portal personal injury claims within a volume driven claims department
  • Ability to handle a volume caseload of personal injury files from inception to completion
  • Analytical approach to reviewing medical records, reports and liability documents etc
  • To consistently achieve income targets on a monthly basis
  • Previous experience of using case management systems
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to value personal injury claims with a successful record on file settlements
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, plan and prioritise workload
  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience of handling a team of paralegals
  • Experience of handling flight delays, loss baggage and or breach of contract claims for holiday claims clients would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of handling holiday illness and injury claims preferred but will consider personal injury paralegals from a different specialism providing they have experience of handling high volume work

Working hours:

40 hours per week between Monday – Friday (9.00-17.30)
